Would your school like some free e-learning INSET about Brilliant Residentials in January and February 2018?
If so you could help us pilot an exciting new suite of CPD materials in January.
The materials will complement the existing Learning Away website and are designed to be delivered using participatory, interactive teaching and learning strategies. They draw on the real-life experiences and learning of schools we have worked with extensively through Learning Away, are interactive, and include numerous opportunities for reflection and planning. There are strands for both senior leaders/governors and school staff, covering:
- An introduction to Learning Away and Brilliant Residentials: impacts, benefits and evidence
- Why are residentials brilliant?
- Planning a Brilliant Residential
- Making Brilliant Residentials happen
- Evaluating Brilliant Residentials
- Embedding residentials into school culture
The Learning Away CPD pilot
Before the CPD goes live, Learning Away is looking for people to pilot the e-learning materials during January and February 2018. We are looking for senior leaders, governors and school staff who have an interest either in planning new residentials in their schools, or developing and adding value to their existing residential programmes. This pilot will enable us to ensure that the design and content of the CPD is interesting, effective and closely meets the needs of schools. The vital feedback provided by schools will enable us to amend the materials before they go live.
What’s in it for me?
Free access to high-quality, interactive e-learning materials that will both challenge your thinking and support you on your journey to Brilliant Residentials. Once the pilot is complete the materials will have a charge attached to them, so grab them free while you can!
What about the time commitment – what will I actually need to do?
Senior leaders/governors: Choice of 30-minute briefing session or longer (roughly 1 hour 45 minutes), more detailed session that also includes time for reflection and planning.
School staff: Four modules (covering the first four bulleted points above) – time commitment roughly 5 hours.
All: Participation in a 20-minute online survey following the pilot to tell us about your thoughts.
If you would like to take advantage of this opportunity, please contact Siân Williams, at Sianwilliams.firstname.lastname@example.org by Friday 15th December.
